My background is pretty varied. I guess you could say I had a hard time finding my niche. I have a BA in Communication, with a concentration in Arts Management, specifically Theatre Arts, from Mars Hill College. After college I worked at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, VA as both a performer and the Vocal Supervisor for the park. Then I got married and tried several jobs including insurance sales (not pretty) and teaching middle school drama. I never had a job for more than 2 years. After the birth of my son, I realized I couldn't afford the daycare on a teacher's salary and it wasn't long before BC found me. (I say this because I wasn't looking for a new career, but I sure needed the money!) I joined BC in November 2003 to get out of the house and make a little bit of money so that we could go out to eat every once in a while. I soon realized that BC was way better than I ever dreamed and could provide for my family in a way that teaching never could – and I could be at home with my kids!
My Stats
1. I became a Director in April 2005, Senior Director in January 2008 & Executive Director in November 2009.
2. I earned my Red Ford Mustang Convertible in April of 2006.
3. I have been able to travel all over the world with BC, including trips to Lisbon, Portugal, Mauii, Hawaii, Alaska, Las Vegas, South Beach, NYC, San Francisco, the Bahammas TWICE, and the Doral Spa in Miami, FL. For someone who never, ever traveled, this has been awesome!!
4. I love making songs about BC and have even gotten to perform a few at our conventions.
5. I have been a National Trainer for BC since 2005 and love to train new consultants at BeautiU.
